Our builder has gone into liquidation — what should we do first?
Act quickly to protect the site and the remaining value. Baracon starts with an immediate independent review of contracts, financials, programme, documentation and site status, then stabilises the project — securing the site and incomplete works and engaging with authorities and insurers — before preparing a recovery plan.
Can a stalled project be completed with a new builder?
Usually, yes. Baracon re-assesses feasibility, resets the budget and programme, and runs the procurement to appoint replacement contractors on terms structured to reduce further risk, then manages re-delivery through to handover.
Who does Baracon act for on distressed projects?
Developers, owners and funders, as well as builders, depending on the situation. Baracon approaches each project objectively, with builder-led technical advice from an Independent Registered Builder.
Is Baracon approved for government and cladding rectification work?
Baracon is listed on the Victorian State Government Construction Supplier Register and the Residential Cladding Rectification Register.
